Skittles Experiment

We have been learning to use better sentence starters and write juicy sentences. Here is my writing on our Skittles experience. We used a bag of Skittles and poured water over them in the plate and we watched what happened.

Collaborative bird wings

We made collaborative bird wings for art.
Materials used were chalk, white crayon and dye.





1.First we sketched patterns on the feather with chalk
2. Next we used white crayon over the top.
3. Finally we went in between the lines with dye.

Here is our finished bird and me with the wings.

Measurement

For maths we have been learning about measurement. We have been learning how to weigh things. I have shown you how to read scales.

Kite Poem

The kite went a bit high but all at the

 same time it went cash.

Science Fair

We have been learning about Scientific Investigations.  We have learnt the scientific method.  We shared our learning at our school science fair.

Fractions

We have been doing fractions.  A fraction can be all kinds of shapes. A fraction can be part of a shape or a number. Fractions need to be equal parts.

Paper Spinners

We made paper spinners for maths. We had to use our fraction and shape knowledge to help us fold our spinner. We decorated them with patterns and colours. My spinner worked well.

The leaves have a line down the middle. Leaves red like a tomato.

  We have been learning how to write correct sentences. We wrote silly sentences and chose our favourite to illustrate. 

The cow ate the lettuce in the swimming pool.

The fish ate the lettuce in the sea.

The parrot ran in the swimming pool.

We used marbling to create our background.Then we made patterns using sharpie on our rabbits. We added some  whiskers  and  glasses. Here  is my Easter Bunny.

The biking was the hardest.

The running was the second best.

Swimming was the best because it was deep.

“Go,” said mum, “you can do it my man.”

It was hot like an oven. I wasn’t nervous or scared.

We lined up in our age groups. I was in the under 7’s boys age group.

Finally my line got called up to the end of the pool to get ready for the start.

On your marks, get set, GO! I dived into the pool like a missile. I swam my little heart out. Finally I reached the end of the pool and jumped out and ran to the push bikes. I hopped on a big bike and raced around the field like a motorbike.

Finally I ran around the back.
